Looms and Loom Accessories

We asked Mirrix customers on social media to help us with our gift guide this year. We gave them a few different personas who might resemble someone on YOUR list this holiday season and they voted on which loom and/or loom accessory to recommend. The choices below are influenced by their answers.

Terri likes beads and fiber and needs a new craft addiction! She has never woven before but has decided she wants to start her new hobby out on the right foot, with high-quality equipment and supplies.

The loom for Terri: A 16" Big Sister Loom

Why? The 16" Big Sister Loom is Mirrix's most popular loom. It's not too big and not too small and is perfect for both bead and tapestry weaving!

Tina got into tapestry weaving earlier this year. She has a small frame loom and loves to make free-form, textural pieces. She's interested in getting more serious about tapestry weaving now and is looking for the perfect portable loom that is large enough to grow with.

The loom for Tina: A 22" Zach Loom

Why? The 22" Zach Loom is our most popular loom for tapestry for a good reason: It's portable (only weighing 8 lbs) but it can still can make a piece 19" wide and 47" long. It's the perfect sized loom for tapestry/fiber weavers looking for a mid-sized loom.

Dan has a 12" Little Guy Loom that he uses for tapestry and he wants to add a bigger loom to his collection. He's hoping to make some small rugs on this new loom and wants the perfect loom AND accessories to make this happen.

The Loom for Dan: A 32" Joni Loom

The Accessories for Dan: Sitting/Standing Loom Stand and Spencer Power Treadle

Why? The 32" Joni Loom is our second-largest loom and great for small rugs or large tapestries. The stand and treadle turn that loom (or any Mirrix) into a floor loom and together make weaving faster and easier!

Barb loves bead weaving, but she's frustrated with her current loom. She wants to make long beaded pieces (like belts and hatbands) but will mostly weave bracelets and other small items.

The Loom for Barb: A 12" Little Guy Loom
The Accessory for Barb: Loom Extenders
Why? The 12" Little Guy Loom is perfect for making two or even three thin pieces at once (having a weaving width of 9") and loom extenders add an extra two feet of weaving length given this little loom a total of 48" of weaving length with the extenders on.
