This package comes with almost everything you need to take part in Mirrix's 41st weave-along that takes place in the new year. Gift it to a tapestry weaver (or future weaver) in your life or grab it for yourself!

Bundle includes:
-A 16" Big Sister Loom with the shedding device (Learn more about what this comes with here.)
-One roll of 100 Texsolv heddles

-A Santolla Purse Kit

I got a hankering to make a purse again (inspired by GIST’s new Dwella Rug Wool), and after a few trial and errors, I came up with this sweet little design. I wanted to create a pattern that would repeat itself, but in surprising ways. On my third try I came up with the final design: rows that include five small rectangles and one rectangle fifty percent larger. The large rectangle would move from left to right for each section and then be covered by a few rows of the yarn matching the larger square.

The final piece is folded such that the warps are horizontal, not vertical. This gives the purse a very different look from what one observes when weaving.

I am so happy with this purse tapestry and so look forward to teaching it to you. I love the final product. Since the yarn is actually rug yarn this purse should serve well for decades.

What’s a weave along? A weave-along is an online course that is included with the purchase of a kit. We lead participants through a project woven on a loom. Once a week participants will get an email with links to instructions for the week ahead that might include downloadable .PDFs, online written content and/or videos. This is not a live event, but does take place over a specific time frame so participants are all working on the same part of the project at generally the same time. Weave-along participants are encouraged to ask questions and engage with other members of the weave-along via email and social media sites including the Mirrix Facebook PageMirrix Facebook Group and Mirrix Ravelry Page. This is a community event!

In this weave-along you will learn:
-How to set-up and warp a Classic Series Mirrix Loom for tapestry weaving with a shedding device
-Tapestry techniques: Weaving in opposite directions, slit tapestry, soumak knotting
-How to finish a tapestry purse by lining it, sewing it together, adding beads, adding a ring and adding a strap.

This weave-along takes place:
Warping: Week of February 23rd
Weaving Part 1: Week of March 2nd
Weaving Part 1: Week of March 9th
Finishing: Week of March 16th

If you are not available to participate during this time frame, don't worry, we will keep all instructions up indefinitely and will be here to answer questions whenever you have them!
