The original Mirrix Shasta Combs are an accessory we developed for our Classic Series Looms to make warping easier and to allow weavers to put a shorter warp on the loom. The only problem with them was that they couldn't fit on our double-beamed looms because they were designed for a loom beam that is the same length and depth. Our customers have been asking for a solution to this issue for years and we've finally come up with one. Meet the Double Beam Shasta Combs.

These combs essentially turn a Mirrix Loom into a simple frame loom but with the amazing Mirrix tensioning system and the ability to use the Mirrix shedding device. The combs are not meant to replace our current warping system, which offers the advantage of putting on a warp that is longer than the loom itself but to provide an additional warping method that is very fast and simple.

With these Double Beam Shasta Combs, you will not be able to use the No Warp-Ends finishing method that can be used with our single beam loom Shasta Combs.

The Double Beam Shasta Combs are made of aluminum and powder coated like our 8" Chloe combs. They come with velcro and are easily strapped on and can be taken off without having to permanently change anything about the loom.

The combs come in three different dent sizes: 8, 10, and 12 dent

You can find Shasta Combs for our smaller Classic Series Looms here.

Why Combs?
-Easy and fast warping
-Saves warp
-Creates one layer of warp instead of two

Who Might Want Combs?
-Tapestry/fiber weavers and bead weavers (Note: Bead weavers will want to use this accessory with a Bottom Spring Kit.)
-Beginning weavers who want the option of a simple method of warping
-Those looking for a fast, easy way to warp for samples or other quick pieces

*The size of pieces made with this method are limited by the size of your loom and the height each loom can be adjusted to, as the top and bottom of weavings made with this method will be at the top and bottom of your loom.

How to Warp With Combs:
Warping consists of tying to a tooth on one comb and zig-zagging back and forth through the teeth. There are two slightly different methods of doing this depending if you want to use springs in combination with the combs. (Note: For bead weaving, you will need to use the Bottom Spring Kit method unless weaving with large beads.)
