We are thrilled to announce the launch of Mirrix's newest loom, the 10" Chloe Pocket Loom.
We are thrilled to announce the launch of Mirrix's newest loom, the 10" Chloe Pocket Loom. After the launch of the 5" and 8" versions of this loom, we kept getting the same question: When will you make a bigger Chloe? After many months of designing, redesigning and testing, the 10" Chloe Loom with double rods was born. While it might not actually be pocket-sized, this loom walks a delicate balance between portability and functionality with changeable sett combs and an on-loom tensioning device. It makes the perfect starter loom, travel loom or sampling loom.

You can purchase the 10" Chloe Pocket Loom with 8, 10, 12, 14. 16 or 18 dent combs here.

This is what 10" Chloe Loom product tester Natasha Khiev said about the new loom (and scroll down for some amazing photos she took!)
I was very excited when I spotted what looked like a new Chloe in Mirrix’s sneak peek posts. The two threaded rods caught my eye right away and I had so many questions that I just HAD to email Elena at Mirrix and she kindly offered to send me a loom in exchange for a review. I already knew I would love it and I did!
I have the Chloe in all three sizes now! The 5", the 8", and this new 10". Ever since my daily weaving challenge in 2023, I have been hooked on weaving smaller works and the Chloe line has been the perfect partner for that kind of therapeutic weaving. You could even weave a table runner - just purchase the extra long threaded rods and table-clamp the bottom beam of the loom to your table!
The new loom arrived about a month and a half ago and I used it to make a few student samples. The new 10" model adds a few upgrades that made me rejoice the moment I started warping it. The biggest change is the pair of threaded rods that hold the beams together. The original (and the preceding Saffron loom) had only one rod in the center. This new setup makes the whole loom feel grounded. On the older, one-rodded version, starting the warp on one side could make the top beam rise up a bit on the opposite side since everything was held together by a single center rod. It wasn’t a huge problem, but it was always there in the back of my mind, so I usually had to tie both sides with a string to hold them in place before warping, and then remove them after the warp was on. With the two rods on this new 10” model, the whole loom stays solid! I can warp all the way across the full 10 inches without anything shifting, and the height stays even from left to right, thanks to the two threaded rods that keep the loom together!
The interchangeable combs are still one of my favorite features. Mine came with both 8 epi (the sett at which I weave the majority of my small works and teaching samples) and 18 epi - the finest sett i have ever woven at! If you don’t like to fuss with the warp ends, the combs let you weave “fringless” or four-selvedge pieces - simply take the weaving off the tines when you’re done!
Teaching on this loom has been great. It works beautifully for all kinds of warp manipulation. The tines let you reposition warps in ways that open up many techniques. The tines are angled just enough to keep the warps from sliding off, which is one of those small details that makes a big difference. They are also really smooth compared to my Saffron and earlier Chloe combs.
I also love how portable it is. It is lighter than my 12" Little Guy. It takes almost no room on a table. I can pack it in a bag, take it outside, weave at the beach, or bring it along when I need a quiet break in the day.
Just like with the 5” and 8” models, there are a few ways you can position the 10” Chloe for weaving. You can prop it on a box. You can add two stand legs to each threaded rod - I recommend using hex nuts instead of wing nuts to secure the legs. You can simply lay it flat on the table or balance it on your lap.
So my final thoughts? The new 10" Chloe feels like a natural evolution of a loom I already enjoyed! It is wider and steadier. If you like weaving small pieces, working on samples, teaching, or taking your weaving wherever you go, this Chloe is a very happy match! A huge THANK YOU to Elena, Claudia, Holly, Sandy and the rest of the Mirrix team - you guys are the best!
